കാണാനായിട്ടി,ല്ലധികമിവിടെ;
കുട്ടികൾ മുതൽ വൃദ്ധന്മാർ വരെയും
കണ്ണടയെ ശരണം പ്രാപിക്കുന്നു!

മുറ്റത്തെ തൈമാവിൻ കൊമ്പിൽ നിന്നും,
കിളിമൊഴിയൊന്നും കേൾക്കുന്നില്ല.
ഏതോവിഷാദം തങ്ങിനിൽക്കുന്നു,
മാവിൻച്ചുവട്ടിലെ നിസ്വനങ്ങളിൽ.
ശ്യാമമേഘത്തിൻ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ നിന്നും,
രാത്രിമഴ പെയ്തിറങ്ങുന്നു.
